HoloAnatomy® Software Suite
Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic
Proof of Concept
In 2016 Case Western Reserve University Teamed up with Microsoft to develop an Augmented Reality anatomy training program that would be the flagship platform at their new Health Education Campus. Microsoft’s Hololens AR headset provided the perfect tech for students and teachers alike to engage meaningfully with interactive anatomical content. It should be noted that since the Atomedge Anatomy models were still in a production phase in 2016, they were not ultimately considered for the final HoloAnatomy® Software Suite. However, earlier anatomy models created by the Atomedge team were purchased and used as part of Case Western Reserve’s “proof-of-concept” phase. These early versions can be seen in the promotional video made by the university.
The Case Western Reserve’s HoloAnatomy Software Suite perfectly demonstrates the huge potential that this type of content has for any organizations who are looking to push boundaries in the medical and educational tech space. The models that Atomedge offers today have been designed with this type of application in mind. The massive advantage of making use of the pre-existing, “off-the-shelf” Atomedge content is that software developers can focus their efforts on what they’re good at - programming, with the confidence that the medical side of things has been perfected by the relevant experts.
Human Anatomy Motion Capture Demonstration
In 2021 we partnered with Het Nieuwe Kader from the Netherlands who worked with our anatomy models to create a showcase of what’s possible using motion capture data to simulate human body movement. The presentation was targeted at medical professionals, sports doctors, physiotherapists, orthopedists and experts in dance science, and was extremely well received.
Het Nieuwe Kader are a high-end CG/VFX studio based in the Netherlands. One of their primary specialties is motion capture, although their repertoire across content creation is broad. The above sequence is provided courtesy of hetnieuwekader.nl instagram: @hetnieuwekader
